"I won't drown"

I got so wrapped up in baby news that I forgot to post the funny story about Will from last night. He decided that he wanted to take a bath in my jet tub.  This is not an unusual request but last night he decided that he wanted the water really deep.  I let it run until it was up to his chest.  He was playing with his boats so I told him "You better be careful".  He asked me why and I said, "so you don't drown".  He gave me the craziest look, like I was the most ignorant person on the planet and said, "mom, I have never drowned in my entire life".  LOL....he had a point so I just shrugged it off and kept doing my thing.  Its funny how he thinks about things but I guess to him I sound kinda dumb!

Babies, babies, babies!!!

Gracious! Since I posted last we have two new additions to the family.  Mallory's baby (Isabella) is now 5 weeks old and Seth's baby (Owen) is a week old.  We are having tons of fun with these littles.  Mom recently got a pool so we have been swimming and Will has finally worked up some courage and is jumping off the steps...that is a MAJOR development.  Will is starting Kindergarten in a couple of weeks and I know that it will hit me like a ton of bricks when I leave him in that classroom for the first time.  He went to Pre-K but it is different in Kindergarten...its like he is really a big boy now!  I will upload some new pics of Will and load them later but for now....Here are some pics of the new babies!

It's summertime!!!

Things have been really hopping around here.  Will graduated from Pre-K and is completely excited about going to Kindergarten. He has been doing tons of fun things while I slave away at work (wink, wink).  He is staying with his grandmother (Dwayne's mom) Monday-Thursday.  He called me from her cell phone yesterday to tell me that he was skinny-dippin in his pool at her house...he thought that was hilarious!!! Dwayne usually takes him fishing after work at least twice a week.  He is becoming quite the little pro! My sister Mallory had her baby girl, Isabella Lynn on 6/15.  She weighed 8 lbs 5 oz and was 21 inches long....and she is PRECIOUS!!! She is almost too cute to be real.  We are just trying to stay busy and cool.  It doesn't seem like it should be the middle of June already! Another year almost gone.  Now we are on a countdown to see when my nephew Owen will be born.  He is due July 11th but according to my sister-in-law's doctor, Owen is measuring about 6.5-7 lbs already so I think he may come early.....anyway, I will update again soon!

Well....its been a while...I say that alot!!

I don't really have an excuse for not updating sooner....I am just a slacker! LOL....I can't tell you the times I have thought "I really need to update that blog" and then get busy doing something else and totally forget.  Will has been doing really well.  He recently started tying his shoes (which was a HUGE deal to him), he is playing t-ball (which he LOVES), and is excited about finishing up Pre-K so he can move to the "big boy school" for Kindergarten.  You all know how Will is and you never know what he is going to say....well, there have been so many funny things that he has said or done that I can't remember one thing!!! LOL...I am going to try to post some videos on here so you can see him in the act.  Hopefully the links below will take you to the videos....let me know if they don't work. I will post stuff as it happens from now on....I promise!

See this silly face? Well, he thinks he is so cute! On the way to school the other day he looks at me and asks, "Mom, where do I get my smarts from?" I thought I would be slick and I said "oh, you got your smarts from me". He looks at me and says.............wait for it........."so, is that why you don't have any?" I almost wrecked our car! I never know what he is going to say...but he for sure keeps me on my toes! LOL

It's been a while...

Well, I have been a slacker! I really have to do better about updating this thing. Will says and does so many funny things that I really could update everyday but I forget! I promise to do better. Will went on his first hunting trip recently. He was lucky enough to experience his first deer...a doe. He was soooo excited. On another recent hunting trip he was very tired and when Will get tired, you better just hold onto your ears! He talked Daddy and Dwayne to death. Finally, Dwayne said, "if you don't be quiet I am going to spank you"....to that Will responded...."well, that would be a shame"!!! Daddy and Dwayne burst out laughing!





Will is doing very well in school (he gets that from me). He can write his name very well and is extremely proud of that. His teacher walked him to the car yesterday and told me that Will had informed her that he was going to be the mayor and that they should call him "Mayor Will". I swear I don't know where he comes up with these things! He is constantly amazing me with things he knows. He told me and mom that bread had fiber in it last night at Longhorn....he learned that from the nutritionist at school yesterday. He uses words like apparently and ridiculous like he is a grown up!




We had a great Halloween, even though it rained on us a little. Will is so ready for Christmas and has created a Christmas list that is quite impressive for a 4 year old. He gets that from me too! lol....well, and from his Daddy...he didn't really have a chance when it comes to wanting stuff!

We have ourselves a PRE-K STUDENT!!!

Well, I made it...I never had a question as to what Will would do, but Pre-K is officially started and he LOVES it!!! I had a major pep talk with myself and had convinced myself that I was not losing him forever because he was starting Pre-K so I did a lot better than I thought I would. He was just so excited about being there that I think it rubbed off on me. I got so excited for him!!! Within the first 5 minutes I heard his most country accent saying "hey, you know what" and I knew he was comfortable and that he was going to do great. He was telling his redneck story about a chicken snake we had in the back yard and I was thinking....."these teachers don't even know what they have gotten themselves into" LOL!!! That made my heart happy.

I had a conversation with my aunt Julie yesterday and she said that she just feels like Will has "the favor of the Lord" and that there is something special about him. That really helped me this morning I think because I knew that no matter what he was going to be watched over and protected even after I was not there. People are just drawn to Will. I am not just saying that because he is mine and I think he is special. We go to restaurants and people want to talk to him. Prime example, we went to a Japanese Steakhouse last weekend. Will had never been and didn't have a clue what was about to take place. A complete stranger across the table said, "I am so excited to see his reaction" and she spent the entire night laughing and watching Will! He does that to people everywhere we go. Maybe God is going to use him in some special way...I don't know but for now I sure do enjoy his crazy personality. I prayed for a child with a personality and boy did God deliver! LOL! I can't wait to find out what he has said at school....there is no telling!!!

CT and EEG......Oh Lord!

In case I have forgotten to tell everyone, Will is having a CT and an EEG done to make sure he isn't having seizure activity. Since Will was a year old I have noticed that when he is falling asleep and sometimes when he is waking up, he makes these involuntary movements. It is mostly in his hands and arms but recently he had an episode where it appeared that he was having a seizure. He told me that he felt "tingly" and would then have these episodes of extremely uncontrollable jerking. They almost look like someone with Tourrets Syndrome having really bad "ticks". Once he is asleep it stops. After this last, more extreme episode, I decided to have his doctor check him out. They are pretty sure it is something neurological and for now are calling it "myoclonic jerks". This is what I have found on them:

Myoclonus describes a symptom and generally is not a diagnosis of a disease. It refers to sudden, involuntary jerking of a muscle or group of muscles. Myoclonic twitches or jerks usually are caused by sudden muscle contractions, called positive myoclonus, or by muscle relaxation, called negative myoclonus. Myoclonic jerks may occur alone or in sequence, in a pattern or without pattern. They may occur infrequently or many times each minute. Myoclonus sometimes occurs in response to an external event or when a person attempts to make a movement. The twitching cannot be controlled by the person experiencing it.

So, this may or may not be anything major but just to be on the safe side, Will's doctor has ordered a CT and an EEG....Will is going to have both at Scottish Rite in Atlanta. His CT is Monday August 3rd. Please pray that we get through the CT alive. He will be sedated for the procedure but he will have to have an IV and anyone who knows Will knows that will not go over very well. He won't have his EEG until the 14th. That test should be a lot easier and hopefully he will do just fine.

I will keep everyone updated as things come up. I am certain that his doctors are being cautious and I appreciate that.

On a brighter note, Will starts Pre-K next week! He is super excited. He will be going to Calhoun (the city school system). Dad is having to adjust to the idea of having a grandchild as a Yellow Jacket but he is coming around! Hehe!!! I will be sure to take BUNCHES of pictures and will post them as soon as I can.

Skinny Dippin!!!

Well, after all was said and done and our cookout was over, Will and Jackson decided that before they changed their clothes it would be fun to go skinny dippin...or as Will said "swimming nekin" I am sure he will LOVE me for this one day but it was too funny not to take a picture of. Will overcame a lot of his water fears this weekend. By the end of our get together he was jumping off the side (with his arm floaties of course). Kelsey's friend, Torri, came with her and both the boys just think she is the best thing ever. They were showing off big time. Will says he loves Torri....Lord help me!

Vacation.....a time for relaxation and revelations! LOL...I hope not!

Well, we made it back from our yearly family vacation. We had a great time this year!! Will finally overcame is fear of the sand....and the ocean....and the water....and the pool...and well everything!!! He had a blast!!! He was non-stop the entire time we were there! He went from not wanting his feet to touch the sand a few years ago to being buried up to his neck in it this year!! Gina found a dead crab on the beach and Will was the only one who would hold it...he thought it was pretty cool. One funny story....on the way down to Florida, Jax had to ride with us. So Will and Jax were fighting (of course) over a baby doll of all things....well, I decide to step in and I say, "well, guess what, it is a baby doll and dolls are for girls and do you know what that means?" Dwayne chimes in and says, "you are both little girls!!" Thinking this would outrage them into letting it go....Jax started laughing. My child, the smarty pants, never to let an argument go says...."I'm not a girl...I'm a woman!" LOL!!!

Our Ball Player

Well, Tee ball season is over....thank God! LOL...it is really cute for a couple of games, but it just wears you out after awhile. I will post some pics this evening. Will, being Will, always finds a way to entertain himself. He digs in the dirt, draws in the chalk on the first base line, and pays absolutely no attention to the game going on around him!!! He enjoyed being out there though so I am glad we did it. He got a trophy for his endeavors and had to call all his grandparents and tell them about it...and had to tell everyone standing around the fence about it too! His big story is that he "hit a home run so they gave me a trophy"...he even told an ex-coworker of mine (whose grandson plays on Will's team) that "that they didn't even give them a trophy the other year" she looked at me and said "they didn't?" I said "this is the first year he's played!" LOL...he has such an imagination! I have no idea what he was talking about! We are getting ready to go on vacation so I am sure I will have much more to post on here about that! It has been a while since Will has seen the beach....that should be interesting! LOL

The Robot......

Ok.....everyone who knows my son knows that he is not shy at all and says whatever he thinks! Well...we ran into a situation at the ball field last night that was......well, typical for Will. A coach on the other team had a prosthetic leg. It was a titanium type leg. Well, I was hoping that Will would not notice because I never know what he is going to say and I am always afraid that he is going to be rude. We almost made it through the entire game and then I hear my child's extremely southern accent...."Heeyyyy.....why you got a robot leg for?" I wanted to die!!!!! The coach was really nice about it. He laughed and explained it to Will but Will just kept on. The game is continuing around him and Will is BENDING OVER LOOKING UP THIS MAN'S SHORTS!!!! I heard him say..."how does that robot leg work?" I started screaming at him to play ball and finally got him turned around......I explained in the car how it was rude to just walk up to someone and ask them about something like that and he said...."well, he told me it was a robot leg". That made me feel a little better but this was just another prime example of how challenging and amusing it can be raising God's Will!!!!

Today's a Great Day for a Date!

Today I had the pleasure of spending some quality time with Will...just me and him. We ran our normal Saturday morning errands plus we had to get my tire fixed but we had some laughs. I bought him some new clothes and a new lunch box and then we went to sit down for lunch together. Will had been in rare form all morning and put on a show at the restaurant....no big surprise there! While we were eating our lunch Will looked across the table at me and said, "today is a great day for a date!" So we continued on our date. He decided that he needed to call my mom, aka Mimi and tell her about our date. She said that he had a pretty date and he said, "yeah, but I am the prettiest"!.....thanks a lot son!!! Then he told the waitress..."thanks for the date food." I never know what is going to come out of his mouth. It always scares me when someone asks him a question.

Dwayne (the hubby/daddy) is on a fishing trip until Wednesday so me and Will are going to have a lot of time together...I am sure there will be many more funny stories to post!

Be careful what you say around Will!!!

Will is currently the star of his 4 year old tee ball team...of course!! LOL. He is really enjoying it and wants to play all the time. After his practice last night we, along with my in-laws, went to eat at the local Longhorn. We love Longhorn and Will LOVES the bread. The first loaf of bread went pretty fast and Will said he wanted some more. Our waitress was TERRIBLE!!!! She brought us our drinks and then disappeared. So I told Will that I would ask for some more bread when I saw our waitress but that I thought she had disappeared. I didn't think anything else about it. Well, more than 5 minutes later, our waitress comes to check on us. I asked for more bread. Will, being Will, said "yeah, cause our waiter "distappeared"". (that is how he says disappear) I held it together until the waitress was gone and then I lost it! I laughed so hard. Will thought it was hysterical!

"I want to stink"

I have been pretty lazy lately and haven't posted anything so I thought I would take a few minutes this morning to write some things down before I forget them. Will's t-ball season starts this week. We thought he had practice on Wednesday (turns out my hubby got the days mixed up) and Will was very excited. He does have practice tonight. So I am sure I will have something funny to write about this weekend.

Wednesday was one of those days that is warm during the day and then really cool at night. Will and Dwayne both had on shorts and short sleeve shirts because we thought we were going to ball practice. Well, when we got home Dwayne decided he was going outside to work on something...Lord only knows what. Will, being the outdoorsman as he is, decided he would follow Dwayne outside. Take in mind it was about 45 degrees outside at the time...Dwayne told Will, "You aren't going outside without long pants and sleeves"...in the most stern voice possible. Will, using his most matter of fact voice said, "So then why are you going out with shorts and short sleeves?" I lost it!!!! Dwayne looked up at me and said..."God help me, he is just like you!" Such a smart baby, I mean big boy!!!

Last night Will and my nephew Jax had been playing the the bait tank...which was full of bait fish. So, when Will came in I told him he had to take a bath because he smelled bad. He said he didn't want to take a bath and that he liked to smell bad!! So this went on for about 5 minutes and then I got a bright idea that I knew would convince him to get in the tub. I said "If you can't listen to what I tell you, you can't listen to your coach and so you can't play ball". He spins around and looks at me like a freaking 13 year old (you know the look) and says, "mom, I want to play ball, and I want to stink, ok?" LOL...Dang! I finally convinced him that nobody wants to be around a stinky ballplayer and he got in the tub.

I have no idea what I am going to do when he gets to be a teenager. He kills me!

My smarty pants kid

Well...last night we had a family night with just me, Dwayne, and Will. We did the call ahead seating at Longhorn and was told that it would be about an hour so we decided to go to Wal-mart to waste time. We saw that there were some people up front taking donations. Will gets the change out of his Easter eggs and takes up to the man who is taking donations. Will said he wants to give them his money so he starts handing the man his money....one coin at a time! The man (who was with the Special Olympics) was cracking up! Will was so proud of "dornating" his money!!!

After we ate at Longhorn I called mom to tell her about Will donationg his money. He said "momma, you are a genius"...I said "who's a genius"...he said"you, did you think I was talking to someone else's momma?"....little smarty pants!

Today, Dwayne and Will went fishing at the river. The owner of the place where they always go had to put a gate up because people were getting in his field and doing doughnuts...Will overheard us talking about it and filed it in his little head! So today, they go through the gate and Dwayne noticed that Will was looking around like he was trying to find something. Dwayne asked him what he was looking for...Will said, "Daddy, I can't find those doughnuts anywhere!" Dwayne, not having a clue what Will was talking about, said "what doughnuts?" Will, in his "I can't believe you don't understand voice" said...you said he had to put up a gate because boys and girls kept throwing doughnuts in his field. Dwayne called me laughing hysterically!! He said "I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!"

Needless to say we are having alot of fun this weekend...thanks to my smarty pants kid!

"I Don't Eat Beans"

Well, it has been a slow week for "Willisms" so I decided to write about an oldie but goody. When Will first started eating "real food" we started him on sweet potatoes...when he was 5 months old. Well, he LOVED them!!! I was told by the doctor to let him eat the same thing for at least 3 days and then try something new, to make sure he didn't have an allergic reaction. Well, my mom says to give him green beans because, "all babies love green beans"! Well, about 3-4 spoonfuls in....he starts gagging. He gagged until he made himself throw up!! Well, I tried to give him green beans a couple more times and he wasn't having any of it! So, fast forward a few years to about 6 months ago. I decided that it was time that Will started trying new foods...he won't even taste something if he doesn't like the way it looks!! I put some green beans on his plate thinking I could bribe him into taking a taste. I told him if he didn't taste a bean that he couldn't have a popsicle. He told me "fine, I don't want a popsicle", so I said "Good, I'll just eat yours!"...thinking that this would motivate him to taste a bean...nope, my smarty pants kid says "What color do you want?" I could not hide my face in time and I had to turn around to keep from laughing!!! He goes on to say (in his Opie Taylor voice) that "My name is Will Hunter and that means I Don't Eat Beans"!!! How do you argue with that??

To this day, you can ask him what his name means and he will say "I don't eat beans".
